Arm lift

De ingreep kan worden uitgevoerd onder algemene of plaatselijke verdoving. Vlak voor de operatie bepaalt uw chirurg nauwkeurig hoeveel huid veilig verwijderd kan worden en waar liposculptuur eventueel de contour van de bovenarm verder kan verbeteren.

Eerst wordt de huid met een uiterst fijne canule (1 mm) verdoofd. Daarna wordt het overtollige vet via liposculptuur verwijderd en een ellipsvormig stukje huid weggenomen. Na zorgvuldige controle op eventuele bloedingen wordt de huid in drie lagen gesloten. Tot slot kan, indien nodig, de contour met liposculptuur nog subtiel worden verfijnd.

After the procedure, a supportive sleeve (Tubigrip) or a special “bolero” garment is applied to help maintain the optimal shape of the arms. Ideally, this should be worn for about four weeks.

The first wound check takes place after 6 to 7 days. After two weeks, the knots of the dissolvable stitches are removed. For optimal scar healing, we recommend supporting the wound with Micropore adhesive tape for an additional six weeks.

Approximately three months after the procedure, a final check-up will be scheduled.

Complications after this procedure are rare. However, due to the liposculpture, the arms may temporarily bruise, and sometimes the hands may swell during the first few days because of the compression garment or bolero. Elevating the arms slightly on pillows at night can help.

In rare cases, part of the forearm may feel temporarily less sensitive. This is almost always temporary and is caused by minor bruising of small nerve branches during the procedure.
