Laser Resurfacing
Why choose laser resurfacing?
Pigmentation irregularities and wrinkles can make the skin appear older. These changes are caused by years of sun exposure, smoking, or genetic predisposition. Laser treatment can resurface the skin, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance after healing.
What is laser resurfacing?
Two types of lasers are used to resurface the skin.
The CO2 laser not only removes part of the skin but also introduces heat into the tissue. This partially denatures the existing collagen, causing slight skin contraction. However, this effect often results in prolonged redness of the skin. To address this, the fractional CO2 laser was developed, which treats only small areas of the skin rather than the entire surface. This speeds up healing, but unfortunately, deeper wrinkles cannot be treated with this method.
The Erbium laser uses erbium gas, which has a much higher affinity for water and removes the epidermis without generating heat. As a result, redness in the weeks following treatment is significantly reduced. Our center has over 25 years of experience with this type of laser.
