Lip lift
Why choose a lip lift?
As people age, the upper lip tends to lengthen in most individuals. Between the ages of 30 and 60, the skin of the upper lip can lengthen by up to 20%. This causes the upper teeth to become less visible when the mouth is opened, and the red part of the lips (the vermilion) to roll slightly inward.
Contrary to common belief, the lips can also be rejuvenated by adding volume. Although aging is often accompanied by a loss of lip volume, the lengthening of the upper lip plays a much more significant role.
By shortening the skin above the vermilion, the upper lip is restored to a more youthful position. This allows the vermilion to roll outward again, making the upper teeth visible at rest—not only when you smile. This results in an attractive, refreshed, and naturally younger appearance of the mouth.
What is a lip lift?
A lip lift involves removing a narrow strip of skin from the upper lip, precisely along the crease beneath the nose. This results in no visible scar, as the incision is placed exactly at the junction between the nose and the upper lip.
