Mommy make-over
Why choose a mommy make-over?
One or more pregnancies often leave visible traces on a mother’s body. In particular, the breasts and abdominal wall may look different after pregnancy than they did before. A mommy makeover can help correct these changes in a safe and effective manner.
What is a mommy make-over?
During pregnancy, breast volume can increase significantly in some women, only to decrease again afterwards. A similar change often occurs in the size and shape of the abdomen. These changes can lead to sagging and loss of firmness in both the breasts and the abdominal wall.
A Mommy Makeover typically combines breast surgery (lift and/or reduction) with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). The breasts can be restored to their pre-pregnancy shape, although some women prefer the fuller volume they had during pregnancy — which can also be achieved if desired.
Abdominal correction usually involves the removal of excess skin and the repair of stretched abdominal muscles, a condition known as rectus diastasis.
All of these procedures can be performed in a single surgical session.
